Massachusetts Institute Of Technology 

MIT is a private polytechnic founded in 1861 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is accredited by NECHE and has a lot of academic affiliations within a few years, the school has over 1,000 academic staff and almost 12000, students.

It comprises eight special study-friendly universities, including Harvard University, Yale University, Dartmouth College,  Columbia University, Cornell University, Brown University, Princeton University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

The Ivy League was established in 1954 in Princeton, New Jersey, the USA with the sole purpose of promoting quality education for students in the country.

MIT is not a part of the ivy league therefore it’s not an ivy league university, it is just supposed because of its competitiveness, academic excellence, and national ranking. It was supposed to be in the league but at the point that the league was created, MIT had a poor sporting record which was one of the criteria that was needed to be part of the league.

Admission Requirements To Massachusetts Institute Of Technology

To get into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in the conclusive year of high school, students are expected to apply in preparation for the academic year. The school is quite competitive with an acceptance rate of 7.3%.

The following are the requirements for Massachusetts Institute of Technology admission

  • GPA less than 4.17 can’t get one and admission to MIT except you make up for it with a higher SAT score.
  • Interested candidates should have a good high school record
  • An SAT score of 1570 and above 
  • An ACT score of 36
  • Certificate of good conduct from high school
  • All credentials and necessary documents should be attached to the student’s application before the deadline. Anything after the slated date will not be accepted at MIT.
  • For International students, the same is required of them, the only additional thing is the English Proficiency Test. If it comes out well, such a student stands a high chance of getting into MIT.

For International students, and undergraduate students, the acceptance rate is 10%, and for graduate students 40%.

Note, that the testing scores listed above are subject to change as MIT has a dynamic testing principle for incoming students.
